(bg:grey)[This is Gray. He is very boring.
He lives in a gray world. Every morning he wakes up and he puts on his gray shirt, brushes his gray hair, and gets on the gray subway train and goes to his dead end job in the gray city. After he gets off, he goes to his same gray dive bar and drinks the same gray beer. He's just trying to put off going home to his gray apartment, which he has to live in with his gray roommate Gary ever since he broke up with his gray ex-girlfriend Grace. Gary is part of a shitty cover band and he practices with his bros until the wee hours of the night, and if Gray wants to get any sleep he needs to stay out until it's almost dawn. Tonight Gray has to come home early because he's got a gray migraine. His gray boss passed him over for another gray promotion. Instead he gave it to Greg, who SUCKS. Greg just got that promotion because he's dating the gray boss' gray daughter. Gray takes off his gray hat and puts it on the gray hat stand. He is immediately treated to a concert from Coverboy.
"Flip on the telly, WRESTLE WITH JIMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Gray tries to settle under his gray sheets.
"GRAY IT AIN'T SO-WOAH-WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Gray misses Grace. He remembers the first time they made love. The pale gray moonlight on her gray skin, her gray kisses... Oh no Gary's trying to sing R&B again.
"I'd let you had I known it, WHY DON'T YOU GRAY SO?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gray wishes for the sweet release of death to take either him or Gary, anything to stop the ceaseless pain of Gary singing Doja Cat. Gray stifles back the tears of misery as he tries to drift off to sleep. He knows tomorrow he's just going to do the same thing again, and he sinks into despair.]

He wakes up with a start. His first instinct was to call out to Grace, only to remember that she wasn't there. She's in her new gray apartment now, in some other gray city, far away. His second instinct was to blame Greg for the fact that he was falling to his death, only to also remember that Greg also wasn't there. Greg was off in some high rise, in the good part of town, giving it to the boss' daughter. Gray would have punched a wall if walls existed where he was. His third, and most successful, instinct was to blame Gary.
"Gary! GARY! Did your awful singing cause the building to collapse?" Gray gets no reply, so he pouts and awaits his impending demise. But he falls for hours and he doesn't hit the ground.
Six doors appear before Gray. They were each a different color, colors he hadn't seen in a long time. He hadn't seen color since... well, it was definitely before he met Grace... before he moved to the city... wow, was the last time he'd seen these colors when he was a child? The sight of the doors brought him back. When he was a young boy, Mother Rainbow would read Alice in Wonderland to him and his six sisters at the Lost Colors Orphanage. Despite his gray skepticism, he found himself drawn to one of the colored doors.

Gray decides there is nothing he can do in this red land but follow this crazy lady to her monarch. The two of us travel across the scarlet hills and the rosy valleys until we come across a glorious rouge palace.
"Let me guess. Red Queen?" Gray mutters.
"Come on inside and you'll see," I say.
Inside things are not as Gray expects them to be. Inside, the roof is held aloft by saffron-colored pillars. Drapes in shades of yellow hang over the stained glass windows, which showed images of amber and of lemons.
"Hey Red! Why is everything yellow all of a sudden?" Gray yells at me.
"We are in the palace of the queen of the Crimson Kingdom," I tell him. "And my name is not Red. It's Rose." We stand at the foot of the Queen's icterine throne.
"I am Queen Xanthe of the Crimson Kingdom," she says. "I see Rose has brought you here. Are you the gray man who is here to save us?"
"Whatever," Gray groans.
Queen Xanthe may not be beautiful in the traditional sense, but she radiates a powerful citrine aura. Gray studies her face. Something about her reminds him of the woman who cared for him as a boy at the orphanage. Mother Rainbow, he remembers, was the only parental figure he has ever known. Even today, she still sends him Christmas cards and asks him how he's doing. He never responds.
"You are the only person who can stop the Azure Knight, my child," says Queen Xanthe.
"Why can't Rose do it? Or someone else?" complains Gray.
"Because we cannot recieve the Blessings of the Colors," says Queen Xanthe. "We each already have our own colors. We can give the Blessings of the Colors, but not recieve one. If you can somehow recieve all six Blessings, you can have the power to do anything you set your mind to. And even with two colors, you can become stronger than any one of us. Of course, in your quest to defeat the Azure Knight, you will not be alone, you will have Rose, my trusted guardian, by your side, along with the Cantaloupe Ogre!"
"The what?" Gray yells.
"I'll introduce you to him soon enough. First, I have a present for you."
"Oh wow, a present," Gray mutters with a sarcastic tone to his voice. "I wanna go home."
"You will slay the Azure Knight with the strongest sword in the land," says Queen Xanthe, holding aloft a sword black as the night, with a bright red handle. "This is the Obsidian Sword. Hold it by the Ruby handle and you shall become strong as a mountain."
Gray takes the sword and admires it. Hey, this is kinda cool, he thinks.
"I have a magical weapon too," I tell Gray, waving its green glory in his face. "This is the Emerald Scepter. The Queen gave it to me when I was a girl, and my sisters all got a scepter too. It allows me to use the magic of Earth. I know the Obsidian Sword. It contains the power of Fire."
"Alright," Gray said, the bitterness in his voice fading.
"Before you go, I must give you the Yellow Blessing, the only one I can offer." Queen Xanthe lays her hand on Gray's forhead and a yellow glow eminates from it. "Now go and save our kingdom, Gray Silverman," Xanthe says, pulling back her hand.
"Hey, Gray Boy, look at your hair," I tell him, handing him a mirror. He recoils in shock.
"Ahhhh! My hair! It's all... yellow!" He tries to shake out and brush off the yellow from his hair, but it stays. Queen Xanthe laughs to herself.
"Go and join forces with the Cantaloupe Ogre and prepare for your fight!" yells Queen Xanthe.
(t8n-time:2.2s)[[Meet the Cantaloupe Ogre->Meet the Cantaloupe Ogre]]](bg:orange)[Cantaloupe Ogre. Cantaloupe OGRE. Gray is not excited to meet an ogre. Ogres just sound disgusting in general. Gray pictures a lumbering, hideous (both in appearance and smell) ogre, obnoxious in every way - like Shrek only orange. Gray and I sit outside the palace in the gardens. His worst fears were about to come true.
"FOLLOW ME, DON'T FOLLOW ME, GOT MY SPINE I'VE GOT MY ORANGE CRUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" A booming voice sings a song that Gray had heard before - was that on Gary's setlist?
A big sweaty ogre the color of a pumpkin came barreling up and sat next to Gray. This was going to be miserable, Gray thought.
"You're going to be my fighting buddy?" bellowed the slobbery idiot. "Hooray! I have a friend to sing with!" The Cantaloupe Ogre waved a blue mace in front of Gray, almost whacking him across the chest. "This is the Sapphire Mace. It holds the power of Water. We're going to need it to fight the Azure Knight!"
I whisper in Gray's ear. "Hey, maybe be nice to him, he'll give you the Orange Blessing."
"So, uh, Cantaloupe Ogre, do you like singing?"
"Do I!" he screams. "The Ogres of the Mountainlands love to sing. We sing as we forge these mystical weapons like this mace."
"That's cool, Gary." Oh no. He slipped and called this lumbering beheamoth Gary. Did he think that lowly of Gary that he'd compare him to an ogre?
"I'm not Gary," he says.
"I'm sorry. Gary is my roommate. He's, uh, obnoxious."
"I bet he's not that bad. Does he like singing too?"
"Uh, yes. Yes he does."
"Then he can't be that bad!" laughs the Cantaloupe Ogre.
"Yeah, I suppose you're right."
"Listen, buddy," says the Cantaloupe Ogre. "I'll give you the Orange Blessing, if you agree to be nicer to your friend Gary, alright?"
"Uh, okay?" says Gray, confused by the turn of events, but he wasn't about to look a gift Blessing in the mouth.
The Cantaloupe Ogre lays his massive hands on Gray's forehead. This time, it's his feet and legs that suddenly gain color.
"Okay, so now I'm orange from the waist down, huh?" mutters Gray. "Alright, I'll take it."
"And now we're gonna be friends forever!" yells the Cantaloupe Ogre.
"Sure buddy. We sure will."
Suddenly a flash of purple catches Gray's eye. It's coming from the forest. Gray feels this strange compulsion to follow it.
(t8n-time:2.2s)[[Follow the Purple glow->Follow the Purple Glow]]]](text-colour:white)+(bg:purple)[Gray sneaks away from me and the Cantaloupe Ogre. He slips between carmine trees and towards the purple glow. He doesn't know why he feels he must find the source.
He finds himself at a grotto the color of amethyst. Suddenly he remembered the stories he'd heard as myths and legends - mysterious supernatural women who preyed on wayward and horny men, luring them to grizzly demises. At this moment, he did not really care. He would become a victim of a siren's lure, and he didn't really care.
The door to the room is open to him. An inviting scent of sweet perfume draws him closer. Inside appears to be a bedroom - on one wall were cluttered shelves full of periwinkle knick-knacks and paintings of lilac boats on violet waters. The paintings seemed oddly familiar. The room is dishevled and the purple sheets on the bed were wrinkled, implying that whatever kind of sleep its owner had had last night, it was quite eventful. Gray is overcome with deja vu - he could swear that he's been here before, even though he was in a fantasy land and everything in the room was purple.
A woman with lavender skin and violet hair appears from out of nowhere and whispers in Gray's ear "come on over baby." He looks behind him to see that she's gone, and she reappears with a flash lying on the bed. She wears nothing but a translucent set of lingerie. She summons him over with a wag of her finger and he obliges, as if moved together by a cosmic force. He gets into her bed to find she isn't there. Gray looks over the foot of the bed to see the purple woman standing in front of an easel, plastering mauve paint over a canvas.
"I'm sorry sweetie, I'll come to bed in a second, I was just struck by inspiration," the mysterious woman says. This was funny, thinks Gray. This is exactly the sort of thing Grace would have done. He can't help himself but blurt out her name - "Grace?"
"Oh my name's not Grace, I am the Wisteria Nymph. What for did you come to my place, Gray?"
It suddenly struck Gray how this fantasy world worked - the Wisteria Nymph was Grace, just like how the Cantaloupe Ogre was Gary, that's why she knew his name. And she was here to give him the Purple Blessing, assuming he didn't screw this up like he screwed up his relationship with Grace. But this was a second chance. He gets out of the bed.
"Hey, Gra-Wisteria Nymph, that sure is a nice painting you got there."
"Oh, you don't think this one is sloppy?" groans the Wisteria Nymph.
"I didn't mean it honey," says Gray, suprised at himself for being so informal with a mysterious woodland sprite he'd only met minutes ago. "Everything you make is wonderful because you made it. I'm sorry if my criticism was too harsh."
"Oh you," says the Wisteria Nymph, as if they'd been dating for months.
Gray's eyes are drawn to a glistening yellow bow mounted above the shelves. He notices on the shelves below a matching set of arrows.
"What's that?" mutters Gray.
"Oh that's the Topaz Bow," says the Wisteria Nymph. "We woodland nymphs each carry a mystical bow, and we only leave the forest to protect the Kingdom in its hour of need. It carries the power of Electricity."
"Well, I don't know if you know this, but there's this Azure Knight running around..."
"Oh I do, sweetheart." She gets close to him. "If you promise to be a better man, I'm more than happy to give you the Purple Blessing. Give me a call sometimes, I might think about giving you a second chance."
"Anything for my one and only," Gray says. She gives him a big kiss.
The next morning Gray wakes up to find that his hands are purple. Gray rolls over to talk to the Wisteria Nymph.
"Hope you like your Purple Blessing," she says. "Today's the big day. Get your sword and I'll get my bow. Today we fight the Azure Knight."

The Azure Knight rides up to us on a cerulean steed. He is dressed in cobalt armor and his sword shines orange in the light.
"Azure Knight! Your reign of terror ends today!" I yell.
"Yeah, uh, what she said!" Gray yells apathetically.
The Azure Knight dismounts from his horse. He pulls off his helmet and Gray recoils in shock.

"Who's Greg?" I say.

"I'm pretty sure I saw you crying in the storage room the next day so..."
"No, that wasn't why I was upset."
"Then what were you upset about?"
"I was... I was upset that my screenplay got rejected again."
The Azure Knight laughs. "Seriously, bro?"
"Yeah, uh," Gray mutters, defeatedly. "I don't really wanna work at that office. I wanna write movies."
"You know what, Gray? You should follow your dreams. I'm not just saying that because I want you out of the way of my ascension to CEO, I mean that."
"I guess you're right. You know, I don't actually know how to use this Obsidian Sword. Wanna call off the duel?"
"Sure, bro." The Azure Knight and Greg hug, a blue glow eminating around them. When they pull apart Gray realizes that some of his skin has turned blue.
"Did you give me the Blue Blessing?"
"Yeah, bro. You're gonna need it, because I wasn't the one terrorizing the Crimson Kingdom. You're gonna need this blessing if you want any chance of defeating the ultimate evil, the Verdigris Beast."

"Hey Orange! Why is everything green all of a sudden?" Gray yells at me.
"We are in the palace of the queen of the Vermillion Kingdom," I tell him. "And my name is not Orange. It's Poppy." We stand at the foot of the Queen's grass-colored throne.
"I am Queen Verna of the Vermillion Kingdom," she says. "I see Poppy has brought you here. Are you the gray man who is here to save us?"
"Whatever," Gray groans.
Queen Verna may not be beautiful in the traditional sense, but she radiates a powerful emerald aura. Gray studies her face. Something about her reminds him of the woman who cared for him as a boy at the orphanage. Mother Rainbow, he remembers, was the only parental figure he has ever known. Even today, she still sends him Christmas cards and asks him how he's doing. He never responds.
"You are the only person who can stop the Azure Knight, my child," says Queen Verna.
"Why can't Poppy do it? Or someone else?" complains Gray.
"Because we cannot recieve the Blessings of the Colors," says Queen Verna. "We each already have our own colors. We can give the Blessings of the Colors, but not recieve one. If you can somehow recieve all six Blessings, you can have the power to do anything you set your mind to. And even with two colors, you can become stronger than any one of us. Of course, in your quest to defeat the Orchid Knight, you will not be alone, you will have Poppy, my trusted guardian, by your side, along with the Canary Ogre!"
"The what?" Gray yells.
"I'll introduce you to him soon enough. First, I have a present for you."
"Oh wow, a present," Gray mutters with a sarcastic tone to his voice. "I wanna go home."
"You will slay the Orchid Knight with the strongest sword in the land," says Queen Verna, holding aloft a sword black as the night, with a bright orange handle. "This is the Obsidian Sword. Hold it by the Carnelian handle and you shall become strong as a mountain."
Gray takes the sword and admires it. Hey, this is kinda cool, he thinks.
"I have a magical weapon too," I tell Gray, waving its green glory in his face. "This is the Sapphire Scepter. The Queen gave it to me when I was a girl, and my sisters all got a scepter too. It allows me to use the magic of Water. I know the Obsidian Sword. It contains the power of Wind."
"Alright," Gray said, the bitterness in his voice fading.
"Before you go, I must give you the Green Blessing, the only one I can offer." Queen Verna lays her hand on Grays forhead and a yellow glow eminates from it. "Now go and save our kingdom, Gray Silverman," Verna says, pulling back her hand.
"Hey, Gray Boy, look at your hair," I tell him, handing him a mirror. He recoils in shock.
"Ahhhh! My hair! It's all... green!" He tries to shake out and brush off the green from his hair, but it stays. Queen Verna laughs to herself.
"Go and join forces with the Canary Ogre and prepare for your fight!" yells Queen Verna.

[[Follow the Green Glow->Follow the Green Glow]]](bg:red)[Gray sneaks away from me and the Canary Ogre. He slips between tangelo trees and towards the red glow. He doesn't know why he feels he must find the source.
He finds himself at a grotto the color of ruby.
Inside appears to be a bedroom - on one wall were cluttered shelves full of magenta knick-knacks and paintings of cherry boats on garnet waters. The paintings seemed oddly familiar. The room is dishevled and the red sheets on the bed were wrinkled, implying that whatever kind of sleep its owner had had last night, it was quite eventful. Gray is overcome with deja vu - he could swear that he's been here before, even though he was in a fantasy land and everything in the room was red.
A woman with crimson skin and carmine hair appears from out of nowhere and whispers in Gray's ear "come on over baby." He looks behind him to see that she's gone, and she reappears with a flash lying on the bed. She wears nothing but a translucent set of lingerie. She summons him over with a wag of her finger and he obliges, as if moved together by a cosmic force. He gets into her bed to find she isn't there. Gray looks over the foot of the bed to see the red woman standing in front of an easel, plastering scarlet paint over a canvas.
"I'm sorry sweetie, I'll come to bed in a second, I was just struck by inspiration," the mysterious woman says. This was funny, thinks Gray. This is exactly the sort of thing Grace would have done. He can't help himself but blurt out her name - "Grace?"
"Oh my name's not Grace, I am the Cinnabar Nymph. What for did you come to my place, Gray?"
It suddenly struck Gray how this fantasy world worked - the Cinnabar Nymph was Grace, just like how the Canary Ogre was Gary, that's why she knew his name. And she was here to give him the Red Blessing, assuming he didn't screw this up like he screwed up his relationship with Grace. But this was a second chance. He gets out of the bed.
"Hey, Gra-Cinnabar Nymph, that sure is a nice painting you got there."
"Oh, you don't think this one is sloppy?" groans the Cinnabar Nymph.
"I didn't mean it honey," says Gray, suprised at himself for being so informal with a mysterious woodland sprite he'd only met minutes ago. "Everything you make is wonderful because you made it. I'm sorry if my criticism was too harsh."
"Oh you," says the Cinnabar Nymph, as if they'd been dating for months.
Gray's eyes are drawn to a glistening green bow mounted above the shelves. He notices on the shelves below a matching set of arrows.
"What's that?" mutters Gray.
"Oh that's the Emerald Bow," says the Cinnabar Nymph. "We woodland nymphs each carry a mystical bow, and we only leave the forest to protect the Kingdom in its hour of need. It carries the power of Earth."
"Well, I don't know if you know this, but there's this Orchid Knight running around..."
"Oh I do, sweetheart." She gets close to him. "If you promise to be a better man, I'm more than happy to give you the Red Blessing. Give me a call sometimes, I might think about giving you a second chance."
"Anything for my one and only," Gray says. She gives him a big kiss.
The next morning Gray wakes up to find that his hands are red. Gray rolls over to talk to the Cinnabar Nymph.
"Hope you like your Red Blessing," she says. "Today's the big day. Get your sword and I'll get my bow. Today we fight the Orchid Knight."

"No! Let's see... 'Gray Silverman, I hereby entrust you with the magic of the color Yellow, the blessed color of the Xanthous Kingdom, which you must solemnly swear you will only use for the powers of good, or my name isn't Sunny Silverman-'"
"Sunny? Is that you? I haven't seen you since Lost Colors. You've gotten into some weird stuff."
"No! I am Daisy of the Xanthous Kingdom!"
"Oh, I get it. Queen Marina is Mother Rainbow, Avocado Ogre is Gary, Apricot Nymph is Grace, Carmine Knight is Greg, Tyrian Beast is my boss, and you're my sister. This whole kingdom thing is an elaborate excuse to get me to stop being such a prick."
"Well, uh, maybe..." I mutter.
"You know what, Sunny? Come here." Gray wraps me in a massive hug, like he used to do when we were little. I give him the Yellow Blessing, painting his eyes a magnificent yellow hue. "Now let's tell off my boss."
Gray stands out in front of the hideous Tyrian Beast. "Yo! Mr. Ashman! You can't fire me! I quit!" Gray stabs the Obsidian Sword into the side of the Tyrian Beast, which disintigrates into lilac light. "Noooooooooo!" He yells. The light flows into Gray, giving him the final Blessing.
"Thank you Gray!" I cry. "The Xanthous Kingdom is safe thanks to you." Queen Marina, the Avocado Ogre, the Apricot Nymph, and the Carmine Knight all clap for Gray.
"That's awesome, Sunny. I'm a changed man."
"But now you must return to your gray world. Do not worry for us, we'll be there waiting for you."
[[Go Home to Your Gray World->Go Home to Your Gray World - Yellow Route]]](bg:red)[Suddenly the ground splits underneath a avocado meadow and the Alizarian Beast rises from the earth. It screams in an earth-shattering voice, "SILVERMAN!!!!!!!!!" Oh no. Gray knows that voice.
"Don't tell me the final battle is with my boss."
Suddenly I remember I forgot something important. "Hey, um, Gray? This might be a bad time, but I forgot to give you the Green Blessing. Right now you only have four."
"Hurry up and give me it, then!" Gray screams.
"I need to prepare my ceremonial speech first!"
"Ivy, I think a handshake or something will suffice."

In the morning, he would apologize to Greg, send in his resignation letter to his boss, give a massive apology to Gary, and even longer letters to Grace and Mother Rainbow and his sisters.
